The Beginning of Agency 967
Hey, it’s Dan Ryan from Agency 967 and Misha Bedner from Promenade Group. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be joining forces, and Promenade Group will now be doing business as Agency 967.
Why are we merging? It’s quite the story.
Once upon a time, two young and ambitious college freshmen found friendship in each other in the great city of Los Angeles. The first time we met, Misha was serving at a restaurant in Santa Monica, and within minutes of meeting each other, we knew we were going to be great friends.
When we were about 20 years old, we traveled to Santa Barbara to visit Misha’s mom over the weekend. One night, we grabbed a beautiful bottle of fruit-infused vodka, walked out of her house, sat on a hill, and drank. As the bottle got lighter, our dreams got bigger.
We both had a passion for high-design furniture, but more specifically, how the art of furniture could transform a space into an immersive experience for people to enjoy. As we were sitting on top of that hill, we had these grand delusions of someday starting a business together, and taking over the world.
As young friends, we lived together in an apartment on Hayes St., San Francisco, number 967 to be exact, where once again we dreamed of someday starting a business, we talked about it all the time. But life is life, and soon enough we found ourselves working on complete opposite sides of the country.
After 25 years of hard work and commitment—we’re FINALLY making our lifelong dream a reality, and it only made sense to name our company after the place where it all really began.
We have combined brilliant furniture design brands with the clientele we have accumulated throughout our careers to provide the highest-quality furniture, and the most superior customer service possible.
We believe that the influence of furniture is key to transforming a space into an experience, and it is our mission to help designers create beautiful and immersive spaces for people to enjoy for years to come.
