Dedon

The beginning of DEDON all started in a hospital bed. As a young soccer player by the name of Bobby Dekeyser laid there in his hospital bed with a broken up face, an epiphany dawned upon him: he was going to pursue his life dream of becoming an entrepreneur. That day, DEDON came to fruition. 

When DEDON was born, there was an early period of exploration and trial and error. Finally, Bobby and his uncle Seppi, an expert in plastics extrusion, created a supple, attractive, and weatherproof fiber that was perfect for outdoor furniture. They just needed to find the right weave. 

In 1991, at a trade show in Cologne, Bobby discovered the expertly woven rattan furniture of a Philippine entrepreneur from the island of Cebu. Soon after, Bobby and his whole family relocated to Cebu where they would spend the next six months immersing themselves in a mecca of weaving. Six months later, the family returned home, and DEDON was finally an outdoor furniture company. 

20 years later, DEDON is the world’s premier outdoor furniture brand. Its products continue to set and raise the standard for quality, design, and desirability.
